UCL-IA is pleased to invite member of the publict to attend this panel session, with the participation of distinguished scholars Prof Richard Drayton (King's College London), Prof Andrew Leak (French, UCL) and Dr Diana Paton (Newcastle).This panel reflects on the life and work of Haitian scholar Michel-Rolph Trouillot who died on 5th July 2012. The author of pioneering studies on Haiti and the Caribbean, Trouillot's work has made a lasting contribution to the fields of anthropology, history and politics. More details via this link:

Amnesty in the Age of Human Rights

UCL-Institute of the Americas scholar Dr Par Engstrom has contributed together with Gabriel Pereira (Oxford) a chapter on transitional justice in Argentina in a recently published edited volume entitled 'Amnesty in the Age of Human Rights Accountability: Comparative and International Perspectives' (Cambridge University Press) by Francesca Lessa and Leigh Payne.
